The Cadillac Commons is a newly branded downtown lakefront area in Cadillac, Michigan. The City of Cadillac has been planning major updates for a couple of years to connect downtown to the lakefront area. This year (2016) they completed two major updates: the Rotary Performing Arts Pavilion and The Plaza. These major renovations were made possible by completing the goals in two major crowdfunding campaigns through Patronicity. The City, Bit Social Media and Charmellow campaigned together to raise $100,000 for a new open aire market structure where our $50,000 goal was met and matched by patronicity.com. The local Rotary also ran a similar crowdfunding that raised the same amount.
Charmellow worked with Bit Social Media to brand the web, social media and provided marketing tools to help get the word out. Charmellow coined the name "Cadillac Commons" and created a robust branding suite to carry forth in the marketing and use of the new features.
The project is currently ongoing, with The Market and The Trailhead still in planning and fundraising phases. Banners, map kiosks and structured events and rental are also still planned for the area. The place making vision for the Commons is to have a managed space that helps promote a vibrant and enriched downtown area.
