Sisters Studio are photographers based in Cadillac, Michigan. Specializing in weddings, they also offer portraiture for newborns, families, businesses, high school seniors, and even fur babies. I created them a new logo, visual identity, sign, custom t-shirt design, and website.
This project was all about creating a design that would embody the unique relationship these sister photographers have with one another, as well as with their customers. It was also important to develop a design that would have style and personality on its own, but also mesh with the style of the photographs without competing with them for attention.
Going into the project, the Sisters didn’t completely have their mind made up about their name. I created visual variations of the names Sister’s Studio and Esther Rose Photography. Each design had its own personality, but maintained some of the qualities of Katie and Carrie. The sisters are equally laid back and lady-like, reserved and professional. The logo had to express these qualities as well as attract their main customers: brides. The circular and floral logo is whimsical and organic, which is fitting for these ladies. They really put their hearts into each job they have.
We went through a few logos and color palettes before deciding on the gray and yellow. During the creation of the website, we added a nice bright blue color for accents. The colors exude calm and professional feelings, and keep the main focus on their beautiful photography. The website creation process also revealed the opportunity for some iconography to aid users in navigation. The whole identity is cute, playful, and photography-centric. The icons help navigate and illustrate the personality of SIsters Studio — professional, classic and fun.
