Joshua Davis
Joshua Davis is a Michigan singer-songwriter who spent years in Lansing's music scene with his band Steppin’ In It before going solo, and he placed in the top three on NBC’s The Voice in 2015. He’s just as good in a tiny room as on a big stage, which is why recording a live album at the Robin Theatre made so much sense. You can hear more at joshuadavismusic.com.
Over the years I’ve done a lot for him: screenprinted and digital posters, an album cover layout in InDesign, and admats for shows at the Robin Theatre, Gopherwood, Coyote Crossing and other venues. I loved working on his materials, and it’s fun to design for someone whose music has this much warmth and story in it.
Album cover layout, design, and prepress for Joshua Davis' The Way Back Home album released 2017.
Joshua Davis: Live at the Robin
Client: Joshua Davis
Year: 2018
Deliverables: Poster illustration and design, 11×17 and square versions
Description
Joshua Davis was recording a live album at the Robin Theatre, solo and acoustic, so I illustrated a blue heron standing in front of a big orange moon, surrounded by dark woods. Michigan night, quiet room, one guy and a guitar. I supplied the poster in 11×17 and a square version for online.
