charmellow who?

Charmellow is a one-woman powerhouse named Dani Renwick. (My editor made me say that.) I thrive on a passion for making your business look EFFING awesome. A Northern Michigan local trained at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, I have the skills, the creativity, and the vocab to get it done, son.

I love making you look good, and I want you to know that I give a crap. Like really give a crap. Your business keeps mine going — quite literally — and I pride myself on being solution-oriented.

what does charmellow do?

Every business is different, and I understand that. I know how to target your specific, ideal audiences and offer solutions that are as unique as your needs and goals.

Getting to know you is at the core of my design process. I believe good design tells a story and conveys meaning, and to tell your story well, I’ll get to know EVERYTHING I can about your business before sketching a stroke. This, and my willingness to work through piles of ideas to get to good solutions, is what sets me apart from the templates and machine-made stuff.

I can tell your story through:

·       Logos

·       Branding & Marketing

·       Graphic design

·       Web design

·       Lettering & Illustration

·       Photography

·       Project management

·       Printmaking: screen printing, offset printing, letterpress

Bottom line: I'm a world-class designer working from a quaint town in northern Michigan. I love making things look nice and like they were made by someone who cares. I believe my clients can achieve their business goals through their investment in strategic design. Let's do this.

Charmellow all began as a young person with a love of design and color…

  • 1986 – Charmellow is incubating as a 7-year-old who loved drawing NBA team logos with my brother and fashion catalogs at school with my friends. The Scholastic Book Fair was the best thing ever for me.

  • 1993 – High school is hard. Music is my creative outlet. I play clarinet from 5th grade until I graduate.

  • 1997 – I graduated from HS. I took photography, and art class and doodled my way through school.

  • 1998 – Went to community college in Traverse City, Michigan for advertising

  • 2001 – See Greensky Bluegrass for the first time.

  • 2002 – Graduate from Northwestern Michigan College. Associates of Applied Science in Visual Communications.

  • 2003 – Move to Detroit and set out to get my bachelor of fine art in Graphic Design at the College for Creative Studies

  • 2004 – Take two road trips – one to New Orleans and one to California. Learn I love road trips and travel is life.

  • 2005 – Graduate from CCS with that Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design

  • 2006 – Work for Mars, Campbell Ewald in Detroit.

  • 2006 – Move to Denver, Colorado. I leave Detroit with a whole pocketful of life experiences to carry me on to my next adventure. I freelance and drive all over Colorado learning about my new state.

I made tons of friends that I still talk to and collaborate with.

  • 2014 – Start working with Greensky Bluegrass and other bands because of my connections and work with Hoxeyville Music Festival.

  • 2017 – Acquire entire antique print shop

  • 2018 – Rekindle my love of cactus by going to Arizona and Mexico, and filling a Field Notes journal with illustrations of the experiences.

    • Traveled around seeing lots of great concerts with friends
