Sankalpa School of Yoga Brand Identity

Client: Angie, Sankalpa School of Yoga
My role: Brand strategist, logo and brand designer, illustrator, website designer
Deliverables: Discovery and brand strategy, logo package, brand guide, custom mandala, custom yoga icon set, brand patterns, Squarespace website, Canva brand kit and templates

Overview
A new logo project for a new business usually takes some real introspection. You end up learning what you value and what matters to you before you can put any of it on paper. That’s how this one went. Angie was starting Sankalpa School of Yoga, and the brand we built is layered with meaning, down to each petal of the mandala we created. It’s rooted in intention and in deep healing through life, grief, and yoga.

The Challenge
Angie was starting from scratch with a new school and a clear sense of what it meant to her, but no brand to carry it. The identity needed to feel warm, grounded, and a little luxe, hold up across print, web, and social, and be something she could run with on her own once it was done.

Process
We started with discovery to dig into Angie’s story, her values, and who the school is for. That became a brand strategy and the tagline Awaken. Align. Transform., which gave every design decision something to answer to. From there I moved into the logo and brand design, then the custom illustration, then the website and Canva setup.

The Solution
The logo pairs a custom hand-drawn mandala with an airy, elegant wordmark. Every petal was drawn with intention, so the mark isn’t just decoration. The package includes:

  • A full logo suite: stacked, horizontal, and text-only versions, plus a half moon stack, an arched window version, an “SSY” monogram, and round academic-style badges in multiple colorways

  • Brand guidelines with a seven color palette (deep brown, orange, coral, sand, rust red, terracotta, and tan) with CMYK, RGB, and HEX values, plus tint scales. Each color is named after a southwestern landmark.

  • A font pairing of Relight and Poppins

  • The custom mandala in a bunch of color and center variations, including versions with a blank center for text and versions that hold a pose

  • A custom set of yoga pose icons, drawn from Angie herself, in both line and filled versions

  • A hero illustration and two brand patterns, one built from the yoga icons and one from the mandalas

  • A Squarespace website designed to carry all of it

  • A big, luxe Canva package so she can make social posts, flyers, and announcements that stay on brand

Results
Sankalpa went from an idea to a full brand with its own illustration style, patterns, a website, and the tools to keep everything consistent. I’m excited to watch Angie’s school blossom and grow over the coming months and years. Thank you for choosing me, Angie!
